I was in the Boston office for 3½ years, and then I decided for family reasons to relocate to the Washington, DC office. This is a very unique place, and for me personally, I had no expectations that I would be in a large corporate law firm for a very long period of time. And the fact that I’ve been here 10 years really speaks to the kind of culture that’s here, the type of people that I work with, and that I’ve been able to learn and grow, and at the same time do things that are personally important to me and get a lot of support in doing that.

I joined the firm a year ago after working with the DOJ for more than 25 years. When I interviewed I saw that people in this law firm were different in terms of the way they treated their peers. I really enjoyed the people I’d be working with and their willingness to share their thoughts, ideas, and, most important, their clients. I joined the firm in October 2008, after graduating from Harvard with my doctoral degree in chemistry. After completing my PhD in Cell and Developmental Biology at Harvard, I joined the IP Practice at Mintz Levin. I was seeking a career where my scientific knowledge would be both required and valued. Working collaboratively with my talented colleagues to help our biotechnology and life sciences clients achieve their objectives has been a rewarding experience.
