Tax Structuring and Advice
The Public Finance Section includes tax attorneys whose principal activity is working with our bond lawyers to assure compliance with the restrictions and requirements of the Tax Reform Act of 1986 and other relevant provisions of federal and state tax law. Our firsthand experience serving as bond counsel to some of the most complex issuers of tax-exempt bonds has been complemented by the participation and leadership of our tax attorneys on applicable committees of the National Association of Bond Lawyers and the American Bar Association. As a result of these activities, the section's tax attorneys have a well-established network of contacts with the staff at the Internal Revenue Service. Our tax attorneys are recognized by their peers as among the most technically knowledgeable in the country; of equal importance, they have the ability to translate a complex body of law into creative, workable solutions for our clients.
